About the Founder

Hi, I'm Alex Liu, a student at BASIS McLean and the founder of WODKAR.

My interest in Tibetan Buddhist culture began with a simple question: how can cultural traditions that have developed over centuries remain accessible in an increasingly digital world?

As I learned more about Tibetan Buddhism, I discovered that it is far more than a religious practice. It is a rich cultural system that brings together art, history, philosophy, architecture, music, and community identity. Yet many people encounter only a small part of this tradition and rarely have the opportunity to explore its deeper cultural significance.

I created WODKAR to make Tibetan Buddhist culture more accessible to a global audience. Through digital exhibitions of thangka paintings, Buddhist statues, mandalas, ritual objects, stupas, and traditional performances, this platform seeks to preserve cultural heritage while encouraging cross-cultural understanding.

My hope is that WODKAR helps visitors move beyond stereotypes, appreciate the complexity of Tibetan culture, and discover how art and storytelling can connect people across different backgrounds and experiences.

Thank you for exploring with us.

— Alex Liu
